GRS Systems (Grit Recycling Skids)

The basic design of our 2008 product line represents 20 years of evolution from our first recycling systems. The process began by asking and answering one question.

Question: What is the best steel grit recycling system?

Answer: The one that is the easiest for painters to operate and maintain day after day.

That answer lead us to further define that machine as having:

  1. Easy operation and maintenance for painters not trained as mechanics
  2. Very clean grit (under 500 PPM) to get the full benefits of recycled steel grit (no dust)
  3. Low restriction, low maintenance vacuum system to maximize vacuum speed (tonnage per hour) and reduce fuel consumption
  4. Ultra compact design to allow use of I-R HP1300 (or other compressor) on front of trailers
  5. Universal design of modules allows them to be used to update all makes of competitive machines

Features:

  • The fewest moving parts with NO double dump valves, bucket elevators, conveyors, augers, gearboxes, chains or belts to wear and breakdown
  • Gravity recovery directly into the VPC with 5 minutes setup. No vacuuming required.
  • Watertight design without using full van enclosure which makes it easy to access all parts of the machine
  • Easy interchangability of various modules to allow upsizing and downsizing.
  • 24 volt DC power (diesel engine battery) to run control systems eliminating the chance of electrocution or grounding problems. 110 volt AC power required for demag system.
  • Pneumatic movement of grit between modules using very little CFM of air.
  • Rugged and reliable PLC control system to replace sensitive relays and timers
  • Automatic and manual control of all functions simplifies operation and maintenance
  • High fuel efficiency for vacuuming and grit recycling

2008 GRT + GRS Systems

All 2008 GRT Systems are built using our interchangeable, bolt-together, QUBE Series modules that are clamped to the beams of the selected trailer. The VPC, CL, SH, PDV and PV modules are available in 9’-6" heights. ST trailers are 3’-0" high (lower deck) with a 12" high gooseneck beam. Overall unloaded height is 12’-6". Loading drops the overall height by approximately 2-3 inches. Module widths are 8’ to 8’-6".
